Hey there! Accepted the invitation obviously! So does that mean I'm an admin? I have no idea about anything to do with blogs (fun).
Do we have any ideas going for the concept map due this Sunday? I'm still not entirely sure I understand what it is we do for it...
I added you as an Admin, feel free to change the layout or anything, I am still getting used to this site.
ReplyDeleteFor the concept map, we can brainstorm ideas that we would do in the classroom.
Here are some things I thought of on the top of my head...
*Daily weather report
*temperature reading
*forecast for the week
*what we wear for the weather
*different kinds of rain/snow
*what people can do outside
... I can make the concept map on the kidspiration site but I would need more input of what to put on it.

That all sounds excellent so far!! If you want to create the account and share the login info (if that's what you're ok with doing?) that would be good!
ReplyDeleteShould we talk about the water cycle in general? And the different kinds of precipitation? Maybe different cloud types too, and what they mean or how they're formed/are different. Maybe the different seasons for our area and what we do/wear, and how different areas have different kinds of weather, natural disasters, temps, etc...
So much we can do!!
Sorry I'm just getting on here now - I'm with the both of you cuz I've never done a blog or anything, so we're all newbies! Remember, we need to sign the Group Conduct Policy & scan it in. Are you guys able to scan? I don't think I have the capability. Rebecca, thank you for offering to make the map. As we make our map, it says that our Big Project should be in the middle and that this map will continuously change as the semester goes on so this one is not an end all (thank goodness!). I honestly don't know what this map is to entail - info about weather concepts or info on the projects we're planning on doing. I'm going to email our instructor and see what kind of response I get. I'll cc both of you so we can see her response.
ReplyDeleteOk, so we got a very nice response via email about what is needed for the concept map. I looked at the link that showed an example. One thought I have for the big project is to have students make a Weather Station - it tells the wind direction, amt of precipitation, air pressure, temp, and other weather related info. That's what I've come up with so far - any other ideas after some research??
ReplyDeleteI do like the weather station idea... make a module that would be able to make it.
ReplyDeleteI will email you guys the username and password for website.
I like that too! Like making one of those things that spin in the direction of the wind and everything... Sounds good!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought my printer could scan... Nope, copies only. But I'm pretty positive Wmu's Waldo library can scan (I'll probably go to my parents lol).
Did the professor add our url blog to her content? I know you posted it Rebecca, but I haven't seen her post it our give me a grade for it.
Yes, I emailed her asking about it, and it is posted now.
ReplyDeleteI was able to scan mine at UPS when I was dropping off a package but it was $1. If you do it at Waldo or even the ed library its free and all you need is a flash drive.
ReplyDeleteI sent you both an email with the password and username to the site I am using. If you could view it tomorrow and see if anything needs to be added or changed feel free to do so.
Also, are you both in the kalamazoo area? I think it will be much easier to work on the project when we are able to decide and collaborate all together.
These are some websites that I have looked at to help us with this project

It looks good so far, I think it's good to upload! I live in Kalamazoo, right on Gull Road/Sprinkle. About ten minutes from WMU so if we want to meet there sounds good! I also go to school in Lansing though on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but in the mornings I'm free almost every day (except Mon/Wed for class at WMU).
